Talking Dolls’ Incubator Residency is designed so that artists can spend the summer building their practice while engaging with the city of Detroit. Participating artists have the opportunity to go deep by reflecting, experimenting, playing, producing, learning, and connecting. Talking Dolls supports both individual and collective practices.

This summer’s theme is Collective Public. This year’s cohort will be expected to collectively host a series of public events using our gallery and storefront. In exchange, we offer the following:

Personal studio space within our 7,500 sq foot studio.
Open studio events
Workshop/Training
Studio Visits
Access to our woodshop, screen printing facilities, kilns, and risograph printers
Resident initiated pop-up events
AND an exhibition during our 2025 exhibition season
